When location is configured within CM Mobile and it is given permission to access location data on the care worker's phone, the GPS location of each tag scan can be recorded and sent through to the HAS Portal for review. This feature is used to prove a care worker was at the correct location when logging in and out of visits.
The location CM Mobile registers when a tag is scanned is reliant on the GPS signal of the handset when the scan takes place. CM Mobile will use a variety of methods to get the most accurate GPS location such as using Wi-Fi, Mobile Data, Mobile Network Strength and Satellite connectivity. However, it is not always possible to get an accurate GPS reading.
You can view how accurate a GPS location was within the HAS Portal.
Log in to the HAS Portal, click the Visit Manager tile.
Within Visit Manager, open the menu Visit Screen.
Use the View Filters button to filter the visits as required.
When you are ready, click the Downloads drop down menu.
In Download Type, click Current Visits then click Download.
In the report file, there is a start event longitude and latitude, and an end event longitude and latitude. These locations represent the tag scan location CM mobile recorded. The start event accuracy in metres and end event accuracy in metres show how accurate those locations are, in metres radius. For example, if the start event accuracy in metres shows 12.5, then the location recorded is accurate within 12.5 metres radius.
β
If the location accuracy is over 50 metres, it means CM mobile was not able to obtain a strong GPS connection and thus the location recorded is inaccurate.
π Note: Make sure that the carer has GPS switched on within their phones settings. The carer can still log events using the CM mobile application.
