Allocate shifts to an ad-hoc view rota

In this article, we explain how to allocate shifts to an ad-hoc view rota.

Written by Billy Dilks

To allocate shifts within an Ad-Hoc View rota:

  1. Select the required Carer by ticking the relevant checkbox.

  2. Drag and drop the appropriate shift onto the rota grid.

    • This action links the Care Worker to the selected day and shift timeslot.

Ad-Hoc view flexibility

Within an Ad-Hoc View rota, Care Workers can:

  • Work different shift times on different days.

  • Work consistent shift patterns across the rota period.

  • Be scheduled flexibly to ensure adequate visit coverage.

This rota type provides significantly greater flexibility when managing staffing requirements and absences.

Completing the rota

Continue allocating shifts until the full shift pattern has been completed for each member of staff across the entire rota period.

Once all required shift allocations have been made, select Save and Close.

Visit allocation

Care Workers are automatically associated with visits assigned to the rota based on the shifts allocated to them.

For example, in a weekly morning rota, three members of staff may collectively cover all required visits, with two staff members allocated each day to ensure sufficient coverage.

Modifying shifts

Shifts within an Ad-Hoc View rota can be modified if required. However:

  • The associated staff members must first be removed from the shift.

  • Any changes made will not take effect until midnight on the day the modification is made.

Care should therefore be taken when making rota amendments to active schedules.
