Citrix error: Unable to connect to the server: SSL Error 84

In this article, we explain what to do if you receive the above error message.

The full error message is: Unbale to connect to the server. Contact your system administrator with the following error: SSL Error 84: The security certificate "ca.clece.de.goskope.com" is not suitable for use in SSL connections. Reason: Unsuitable Key Usage Field.

This error message can occur when you try to log in to CallConfirmLive! after logging into Citrix. If you have this error message and normally log in using the Lite version of Citrix, try clearing your browser cookies.

To clear Google Chrome cookies:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome, At the top right, click More.

  2. Click More tools, then Clear browsing data.

  3. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.

  4. Next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, check the boxes.

  5. Click Clear data.

To clear Microsoft Edge cookies:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge and then select the three dots at the top right corner, then click Settings.

  2. Click Privacy and Services.

  3. Click Clear browsing data, then select what to clear.

  4. Under Time range, choose a time range.

  5. Select Cookies and other site data, and then select Clear now.

To clear Internet Explorer cookies:

  1. Click Tools. Note: The gear-shaped icon is at the top right corner of the browser.

  2. Go to Safety then Delete browsing history.

  3. Select the checkboxes for each data (Cookies and website data, History, Temporary Internet files etc.) which you want to delete from Internet Explorer browser. To delete Cookies, select Cookies and website data.

  4. Click Delete.

To clear Firefox cookies:

  1. Click the menu button and click Library (or click the Library button in the toolbar).

  2. Click History and then click Clear Recent History.

  3. Set Time range to clear: to Everything.

  4. Select Cookies and make sure that other items you want to keep are not selected.

  5. Click Clear Now to clear all cookies and close the Clear All History window.

After clearing your cookies, shut down your browser, re-open it, and try logging in again.
