Google maps invalid request error

What to do if you receive the Google Maps invalid request error in CM New World.

If you see the error 'Google Maps Platform rejected your request. Invalid request' when viewing a GPS captured location in Visit Manager, work through the following steps before clearing your browser data:

  • Clear the browsing data for the site you are using, close the browser, reopen it, and check whether the error persists.

  • Test using a different browser. If you are currently using Google Chrome, try Microsoft Edge.

  • Test using a different PC.

  • Check whether the issue occurs for other users or only when you are logged in.

If the error persists, clear your browser data using the steps below for your browser.


Clear browsing data in Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and click More (three dots) in the top-right corner.

  2. Click More Tools, then Clear Browsing Data.

  3. At the top, select a time range. To delete everything, select All Time.

  4. Select Cookies and Other Site Data and Cached Images and Files.

  5. Click Clear Data.


Clear browsing data in Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge and click Settings and More (three dots) in the top-right corner.

  2. Click Settings, then Privacy and Services.

  3. Under Clear Browsing Data, click Choose What to Clear.

  4. Under Time Range, choose a time range.

  5. Select Cookies and Other Site Data, then click Clear Now.


Clear browsing data in Internet Explorer

  1. Click Tools (the gear icon in the top-right corner of the browser).

  2. Click Safety, then Delete Browsing History.

  3. Select the checkboxes for the data you want to delete. To delete cookies, select Cookies and Website Data.

  4. Click Delete.


Clear browsing data in Firefox

  1. Click the menu button, then click Library (or click the Library button in the toolbar).

  2. Click History, then Clear Recent History.

  3. Set Time Range to Clear to Everything.

  4. Select Cookies and confirm no other items you want to keep are selected.

  5. Click Clear Now.


After clearing your browsing data, close your browser, reopen it, and try viewing the GPS location again.

If the error persists, raise a case for additional assistance.
