Welcome to the December edition of monthly newsletter from the Access CM Product Team.

We hope everyone is having an enjoyable festive period.

We would like to take an opportunity to thank everyone for their input and patience this year with the work we’ve needed to do in preparation for the DC2 move. This will deliver a much improved hosted and disaster recovery service so a positive for 2025.

Just a quick update on the ‘Dynamic Timeslots’ feature from the November newsletter, we found a few minor issues during the final stage of regression testing. This meant the upgrade wasn’t ready before the Access wide release freeze, so due to the level of clinical risk around the eMAR solution, we would rather err on the side of caution and not rush the release. Consequently, this will now be released in early January.

At A Glance

  • Document Manager Update

  • Completion of all outstanding WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA items

  • Resolved several bugs

The Deep Dive

Document Manager

We have a fair bit to cover in this update so brace yourselves. The following will all be releasing in January.

The Document Management tab will now correctly display a loading indicator when data is getting retrieved.

Slight tweak to the button layout and position we have also updated the buttons to include an icon to make them clearer.

The placeholder ‘Document Management’ label has been removed from the Files tab.

The Loading icon will now be displayed when removing large/multiple files.

More file type icons will now be displayed based on the following file extensions:

  • Word (doc, docx)

  • Text files (txt)

  • PDF (pdf)

  • Excel (xls, xlsv, csv)

  • PowerPoint (ppt, pptx)

  • Image (png, jpg, jpeg, gif, tiff, bmp)

  • Video (mp4, wmv, mkv, mov, avi, flv, mpeg, 3gp)

  • Sound (mp3, wav, flac, aac, ogg, aiff, wma ,alac, dsd, pcm)

Other file extensions will use the default ‘unknown’ image (shown below):

We have introduced a custom audit for this feature, which will capture the user information when a file is Deleted, Previewed or Downloaded.

The ‘Remove’ button has now been removed from the inline file option (leaving the Preview and Download) but ‘Remove Selected’ can still be found within the Options dropdown:

The system will now require a reason to be manually entered before a file can be removed (this is also captured in the audit):

The Preview option will now display PDFs and Image files directly within the app:

We have introduced a Fullscreen mode for the Files Tab that can be found at the bottom left:

Note: You might find this useful when using the Preview option.

Lastly, we have also updated the Roles (Permissions) for the Document Manager feature to the following:

  • Read Only will allow Preview and Download Only

  • Standard will allow Preview, Download and the ability to Upload new files

  • Editor will allow Preview, Download, Upload and ability to Remove files

WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA in the Client Portal

All the outstanding items found in the latest audit have been addressed. This included a few issues with the Tab indexing and how certain tabs are shown when the zoom level is at 400%. We have arranged a follow-up external audit for late January.

Bugs

  • Resolved an issue with the creation of Client Portal only user account for customers using Workspace/Access Identity #1456366

  • Resolved an issue that could cause an error when registering NFC tags while using an Android based phone. This will be available in v13.1.4 #1453460
