This occurs when a personal message or broadcast has been sent to yourself. CM Mobile does not support sending messages to your own account, which causes the unread notification to persist.
To prevent this from happening again, avoid sending personal messages or broadcasts to yourself. A fix for this is scheduled for a future release.
