a failed mapping and travel time error can occur when the system is unable to calculate the route between visits. This can be due to multiple things. As a result, travel time may not be recorded correctly, which can affect scheduling and reporting.

Check to ensure the clients or carers have addresses allocated to them, and you have used the address lookup feature within the record to find the address.

To do this, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open the client record.

  2. On the basic details tab, select the magnifying glass icon next to the postcode box.

  3. Enter the postcode and then click search.

  4. Click the address from the list, Save the record.

If you are unable to see any travel time on the daily planner or weekly planner screen or you are unable to see specific travel time, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article, including the details of the travel time that is missing.

About CallConfirmLive! mapping, routes, distance and travel time

CallConfirmLive! uses one of two mapping solutions to calculate the distance of a journey. These are map mechanics (MM) and open street maps (OSM). The travel time is calculated using the distance value sent from the mapping provider and the average speed configured on the default mode of transport within the lookup admin.

We use map mechanics as our main routing provider, and OpenStreet Maps as a backup. Both routing solutions only calculate post-code to post-code distances, instead of address-to-address distances. This can result in discrepancies with the calculated distance values when compared to other mapping providers such as google maps.

Map mechanics is a static database of postcode to postcode routes that is updated 3 times a year. It includes postcode to postcode matches and the distance within a 40-minute radius at a given point in time. The routes calculated are only as accurate as the last received update.

Open street maps do not use real-time inputs, and instead, generate a basic distance value based on the postcode to postcode journey.

Google maps is only used for the graphical aspect of the solution when displaying the location on a map or displaying the directions between two addresses within the daily planner screen.

Please do not use Google Maps to compare distances shown within CallConfirmLive!, as Google Maps uses a wide range of factors to calculate the best route, (such as an address to address route, real-time road/traffic accidents, road closures, and congestion). Whereas map mechanics only considers these factors when the very first journey is calculated between the two locations (it is then reused after), and open street maps does not take into account these factors at all.

In order to disable travel time

If you want travel time to be disabled, please send us a written request outlining the reason for the disable request. Please raise a new case, and we can check this for you.
